"People Ask Me, "Why is it free?" and I tell them (really slowly) "Because it doesn't cost anything." - Bill Austin (http://home.att.net/~wbaustin/famous.html)

Notes from the Editor:
Good news - got another Liberty Basic Newsletter ready for your eager consumption. Wish it had been ready on time. It seems these newsletters get later and later. It is like my finance company (except in reverse) who wants to collect every 28 days, eventually they will have gotten 13 payments in a 12 month period. At the rate I release the newsletter you will eventually get 11 issues in 12 months. What a thought. Thank goodness Alyce, Janet and Tom are here to help me look good!
I blame the delay on the inability to find a suitable quote (it isn't true, but it sounds good). Well this month's quote is funny and maybe has some relevance to the newsletter - in that the newsletter is free. I wish someone would have asked why it was free, but no one ever has. Does that mean that all of you expect such fantastic resources to be free?! Surely not. But you are so lucky because it is both fantastic and free.
You might be wondering; who the heck is Bill Austin and why quote him? He insists (tongue in cheek I am sure) that he is the famous Bill Austin - frankly I don't know, but I like the quote. I often search out new quotes each time I do the newsletter, but find myself frustrated for lack of a really great one to use. Tom Nally seems to be a master at finding these. This one was fun and reminds me of a quote from a movie I like. It comes from the movie Ice Age - where two almost identifiable creatures are discussing the change in climate and goes like this:
"Why do they call it the Ice Age?"
"Because of all the ICE!"
"Well it did seem to get a little chillier..."
Well that really is off the subject - huh? "He programs, he writes newsletters and he watches Block Buster Movies - that Brad Moore is really something"!
Well getting back on track - we have so much in this issue. There were some really great submissions this month. I should say something to entice you to read everyone, but you are going to have to check them out yourself. I promise you will not be disapointed! Such fantastic authors make this job pretty easy - I frankly did not have to do anything besides put it all together. I hope you take time to read each of the articles. They do cover a wide range of subjects and skill levels, so I am sure you will find something of use in there. I know I am excited about them all.
I would like to thank all the contributors this month. A great deal of the credit goes to Janet who puts in long hours editing and proofing many of the articles. She has also started formatting them for publications which is fantastic. And she finds time to write an article or two as well!
Please do us a really big favor. We know you access the newsletter. We believe you actually read it now and then. When you do, drop us a line. We like to have comments posted to the forum [http://libertybasic.conforums.com/index.cgi?board=feedback], but if you are shy you can PM us too you know. We want to know what is working and what is not. What helped you and what should we include more of?
Also remember - you can be part of the newsletter experience by contributing too. Check out the information below on submitting articles.
Thanks and enjoy another fantastic issue of the Liberty Basic Newsletter
- Brad Moore
The Liberty BASIC Newsletter encourages all LB programmers to submit articles for publication. Everyone has something valuable to say, from beginners to veteran LBers. Consider sharing a code routine, with explanation. Perhaps you can review a favorite LB website, or program, or coding tool? Why not submit a list of questions that have been nagging at you? How about sharing your favorite algorithm?
Be sure to read the submission guidelines on the main Liberty Basic Newsletter website.
